Pats 2009 Stret Glide Project with Bad Dad Fender & BagsPat wanted to make his 2009 Street Glide all black. So, with that in mind, we removed everything that wasn't black and sent it for gloss black powder coating Everything was cleaned, inventoried and packed and shipped to our powder coater. It is always a good idea to use a reputable powder coater, one that knows what to coat and what not to coat.
With the return of the powder coated parts, we could now assemble the engine. Pat wanted more “punch” so we upgraded the engine to 103”, with hand picked cams, Dyno Jet Power Commander, D&D Fat Katz 2 into 1 exhaust system with “ghost” pipe. (The left side pipe is for looks only) and the personal touch from Joe’s cycle for Dyno tuning (see dyno chart). With the engine assembled we moved on to chassis changes Pat wanted a different look for the rear of the bike. He went with a custom rear fender and saddlebag set from Bad Dad. The rear fender has to be cut to allow the "filler" fender to be installed. They also offer a hide-away license plate mount which allows you to hide the license plate under the rear fender while parked. The fender and saddlebags both have flush mount L.E.D. lights built in and the saddlebag tops move out instead of hinging to open, very trick. At the paint shop they applied a mask over the lights so that once painted the lights are not visible, but when turned on shine through the paint, very trick. We installed the automatic license plate mount. When the bike is turned off it hides under the fender, start the bike and out it comes. Here is the finished assembly of the rear fender, saddlebags and wiring. Click to view video of Hidden License Plate |
