Although I had ridden behind for over 30 years, the thought of stepping into a “bike shop” alone was terrifying not to mention the fact that I was riding an older small bike and knew nothing about motorcycles. From that first day until the present I was treated as if I was riding an expensive custom machine. I was spoken to with respect as if I understood and when I didn’t the explanation was reiterated in layman’s terms. Each visit was a learning experience and all the work performed was exactly as I had anticipated. In August of 2006 I purchased my second Harley a 2001 Heritage Springer my dream bike. Some 25,000 miles later I was now able to ask the right questions, customize the bike to my liking and enjoy the Rolling Thunder Experience. My friendship with Gerard, Steve, Tom, Debbie, Pete, Wayne and the staff grew over the years and when I embarked on a trip to Knoxville, Tennessee last year they kidded me saying, our little girl is growing up. Last week I rode to the Harley 105th in Milwaukee. I had just changed my handle bars for the third time, gotten new Metzler tires and added some special touches thanks to their input and knowledge of my riding style and personal preferences. I was kicked back with my feet up on the highway pegs and a pack of guys rode by me. I got nods, waves and thumbs up. For the first time I really understood what it meant to be in my zone. Thank you to everyone at Rolling Thunder Cycles for helping me make this dream a reality. Lauren S. |
